Gameplay Notes

  • Chrysaor's normal attacks count as one damage instance despite appearing as two instances; the visual effect is purely cosmetic.
  • The Mailbreaker support skill can activate even if none of the multiattack hits land.

Auxiliary Weapon

Auxiliary weaponsA sabre or katana of the same element as the main weapon equipped in the top-left slot of the sub weapon section are a unique mechanic to Gladiator and Chrysaor. Equipping an auxiliary weapon improves certain skills, and is required to activate others. Players can use these classes without an auxiliary weapon, but will not reach their full potential.

To equip an auxiliary weapon, there are three simple requirements:

  • The weapon must be set at the top-leftmost corner of the weapon grid
  • The weapon must be a sword or katana
  • The weapon must have the same element as the main hand weapon

Other than these requirements, the auxiliary can be any weapon, including Class Champion Weapons of other classes. However, because they are part of the grid instead of the main weapon, weapon skills that only take effect when equipped as main weapons will not work.

The following skills require equipping an auxiliary weaponA sabre or katana of the same element as the main weapon equipped in the top-left slot of the sub weapon section:

Assessment

Chrysaor is a powerful attack class that works particularly well with parties centered around Charge Attacks. Its main limiting factor is having an auxiliary weaponA sabre or katana of the same element as the main weapon equipped in the top-left slot of the sub weapon section equippedits damage drastically falls without one.

    Another required Extended Mastery Skill for Chrysaor burst teams. With an auxiliary weapon, it instantly fills the MC's charge bar by 40% (at minimum; fills more with Charge Bar Gain UpCharge bar gain is boosted
    effects), making it an invaluable C.A. enabler. It also deals respectable damage, particularly with Skill DMG Cap boosts.

How to Play

One-Turn Kill Teams

Chrysaor is one of the best classes for OTK teams, used for quickly farming battles. The typical Chrysaor OTK setup has several requirements:

  •  HuanglongMain Aura50% boost to all Elemental ATK. All allies start battle with +30% charge bar. 30% boost to Charge Attack damage. (3) as either a main or support summon (+30% charge bar at battle start)
  • +30% charge bar at battle start from Crew Skills (not strictly necessary if you will use a support  HuanglongOmnictus Massive Light damage to all foes. All allies gain Instant ChargeInstantly sets Charge Bar to 100%
    Unaffected by Charge Bar Gain status effects.
    No effect when afflicted by Shorted debuffs or when Charge Bar is above 100%.
