About Debuff Resistance | Debuff Success Rate List | Party Debuff Resistance List
Debuffs are status effects that are generally considered detrimental to the afflicted. Characters and enemies each have innate debuff resistances, which can then be boosted or lowered by certain skills or status effects.
About Debuff Resistance
Every debuff skill has a base accuracy that determines the likelihood that its debuff will be inflicted. Skills with multiple debuffs will roll each one separately, so it is possible to miss some effects and land others. In battle, this innate accuracy is further affected by several factors, such as innate elemental debuff resistance,
,
, Debuff Resistance / Debuff Success Extended Mastery Perks, and resistance to specific debuffs.
Inflicting Debuffs
The expanded Debuff Success rate formula is as follows:[1]
[math]\text{Debuff Success %} = \text{(Base Accuracy + Accuracy Boost)} \times \frac{\text{[100 - (Debuff Resistance + Debuff Res. Modifiers)]}}{\text{100}} \times \frac{\text{[100 - (Specific Debuff Resistance)]}}{\text{100}}[/math]
Generally, foes have lowest debuff resistance against their disadvantageous element, followed by neutral elements (no explicit advantage or disadvantage), and lastly having the highest resistance against the same element or disadvantageous element. However, this is just a general guideline and exceptions do exist.
Debuff Resistance Modifiers include statuses such as
and Debuff Resistance Lowered.
Some foes have higher debuff resistance to debuffs, while maintaining their standard Debuff Resistance to other debuffs. For example, the Nightmare foe of the February 2018 iteration of Unite and Fight had a 25% Specific Debuff Resistance to
.[2]
In most situations, an enemy's exact debuff resistance value is unknown; only comments about general resistance or immunity to certain debuffs (will display "Resist" when the debuff is inflicted) can be made. Some enemies also develop greater resistance to debuffs each time it is used in a battle.
Avoiding Debuffs
Raising debuff resistance will cause any debuff with a success chance lower than its effect to "Miss" (the same as dodging a debuff). As a result,
Strength: 100% is functionally identical to debuff immunity. However, it is mechanically different from
"Veil" is an unofficial name used by the wiki for this status effect. Its actual in-game name is "Immune." or
, which "Resist" debuffs. As a result, debuffs that can bypass Veil/Immune may still be avoided by maximizing Debuff Res. Up.
In general, self-inflicted debuffs and debuffs inflicted by another party member cannot be avoided, but can be removed by skills such as
