Overview
Agielba is a Defense character that focuses on taking hits for the party due to both his active and passive skills, and mitigating them with his high defenses and his ability to heal himself. As such, his key role is to protect his party from potentially lethal attacks. He is also capable of defending and attacking at the same time. By taking damage, he can enhance his damage output and retaliate with counter attacks, while using his charge attack can boost his defenses significantly to the point where he can take negligible damage.

How to Play
As a defense character, Agielba functions to take potentially lethal attacks away from the other party members, and does so by timing his skills and, if needed, charge attacks.
Agielba works well against foes with lots of single-target or multi-hit attacks. He is well-suited in fights where enemies can hit him, as to be able to counter attack and make use of his ![]()
buff to full effect.
He is not recommended in fights where foes only or mostly does party-wide attacks, as ![]()
(Excludes all-foe all-ally attacks)
is rendered moot. He is also not recommended in fights where enemies are constantly afflicted by statuses such as ![]()
, as this prevents him from taking damage to make full use of his ![]()
and counter attacks. Although Agielba puts decent damage regardless, a stronger attacker or a better offensive support character may work better in such fights.

Because Agielba's 1st and 3rd skills and his charge attack are also used for tanking, Agielba already deals damage simply by performing his primary function as a tank. However, this also means that he cannot always use them freely, especially when up against enemies with attacks that needs mitigating.

Prioritize Criticals, one node at a time, followed by health. If using against non-wind opponents, hold off Criticals until later. Take one star on each Defense node if necessesary. Due to Agielba's Defense from his passive skills, abilities and charge attack, it has a lower priority, but should not be ignored completely. Finally, take Extended Mastery Support Skill. If there are points left, such as using aOver Mastery Bonus
Most over mastery bonuses work well with Agielba. Take note of some bonuses, however:
Debuff Success is largely useless on Agielba due to his lack of debuffs.
Dodge can increase Agielba's tankiness, but also risks reducing his chances of getting hit. This can prevent him from doing a counter attack from his first skill and Extended Mastery Support Skill, and reduce the effectiveness of his second skill.
Healing also increases the healing cap of Kagutsuchi's
DrainDamage dealt is partially absorbed to HP
.
