What Makes the Sky Blue is a story event which also commemorates the 3rd Birthday of Granblue Fantasy.

The sky is falling.
Terror creeps into the heart,
and all one can do is pray.

After many millennia the very first primal
beasts, with their pasts stained in darkness,
take the stage once more.

And amid the pandemonium a girl in blue stands.
She must find her inner strength.
She must save the world.

For new players

Make sure you complete all the quests, since each chapter, quest, and raid boss awards Crystal ×50 on first-time completion.

Notable Rewards

  • Obtain as many Damascus Crystals from the event as possible. They are a good long-term investment for the future. There are 3 that you can earn from gaining Honor points. You need 10 Damascus Crystals to create 1 Damascus Ingot. Getting 3 million Honor is a bit of a stretch for new players so try and get what you reasonably can with your resources.
  • Dark Flame Scion has an excellent Aura for brand new players of any element. Although it gets easily replaced by most summons obtained from Rotating Showdowns and by most 0★ Premium Draw summons, the Aura is still specifically good for newer players without a wide repertoire of elemental ATK boost Auras. If you plan on using Lyria often, note that using this summon will reset the cooldown of one of her skills. Otherwise, if you already have better Auras for your elements, obtaining a 3★ copy is up to you.
  • Dominion Harp has an EXa.k.a "Unknown" or "UNK" big Light ATK boost weapon skill when upgraded to Lvl 100. Due to the low drop rate of Luminiera weapons, it's a great provisional weapon for new Light players, but only if you uncap it to 3★. Harps have naturally low ATK, but if you don't have a Light EXa.k.a "Unknown" or "UNK" weapon yet, try and get a 3★ copy if possible.

"Which Bahamut Weapon should I get?"

Newer players have an amazing opportunity to obtain one free Bahamut Nova Weapon. These weapons provide large stat bonuses to characters depending on their race and are a staple in many late-game weapon grids. The Main Character and "Unknown" race characters benefit from any Bahamut Weapon. The weapon you choose should be based on which character races you'll use more often.

In general, the Dagger is the most practical due to the overabundance of recruitable Human and Erune characters, but the Sword and Gun are viable first-picks as well, depending on your roster. The Spear and Axe are niche due to the lack of high-tiered Draph and Harvin. Otherwise, the other unmentioned weapons are not recommended as a first-pick Bahamut Weapon.

Also, you may still obtain more than one Bahamut Weapon by doing the traditional process, so don't feel too anxious about your choice. Note that Bahamut Weapons of the same type do not stack and only the largest bonus will apply (e.g. Dagger + Dagger does not stack). Bahamut Weapons of differing types do stack, up to +50% in bonuses (e.g. Dagger + Sword stacks).

  • Role: Support
  • Some of the most unique mechanics in the game.
  • Allows summoning twice on the same turn if in the frontline.
  • Does not attack except for her Charge Attack.
  • Varied party-wide buffs allow her to contribute to nearly any situation.
  • Will need outside assistance to keep party buffed continuously.

Lyria joins you after Chapter 1. Unlike other event characters, Lyria does not require you to raise loyalty in order to keep her after the event concludes.

What Makes the Sky Blue was updated at 5 p.m., Mar 6, 2017 (JST). Clear the mission each day to get loot! A new daily mission begins every day at 5 a.m. (JST).

Daily mission rewards include Crystal ×50, Noble Red Crystals, and Royal Purple Crystals. A Blue Sky Crystal may appear as a daily reward near the end of the event.

Honor Collection

Collect honor by completing quests and defeating raid bosses. When certain amounts of honor is accumulated, earn rewards. The number used to gauge each player's contribution to a raid boss is also called honor; the amount of event honor earned per raid boss is equal to the amount of contribution honor accumulated plus a static bonus amount based on whether you started the raid or joined as support.
