I'm a results-focused technical program manager with several years experience working on large software projects at Microsoft. Passionate about solving customer problems, having good customer empathy, and ability to evaluate diverse requirements for technology products with a worldwide customer base.

I have deep expertise in font technology, text processing and internationalization. For most of my years at Microsoft, I worked on GDI text, Uniscribe, DirectWrite, font handling, and globalization/localization APIs. I also spent some time working on color and HDR display. Currently I work on technology standards related to globalization and fonts.

I've been a contributing participant in development of Unicode and the corresponding ISO/IEC 10646 standards for many years, and chair the Unicode Technical Committee. I was the project lead and editor for the ISO 639-3 language coding standard. These two standards are used in all modern software platforms and across the Web, and are fundamental components of internationalization. I have also been the editor for the OpenType font specification and led the cross-industry initiative to create OpenType variable fonts.
