Jesus

Jesus of Nazareth is the central figure of Christianity and of the New Testament—particularly his life is narrated in the four gospels of the New Testament. Christianity regards Jesus as the awaited Messiah of the Hebrew Bible and refers to him as Jesus Christ (Greek χριστός christos translates the Hebrew "Messiah" = מָשִׁיחַ māšîaḥ).

Jesus was a Jewish preacher or rabbi from Galilee. He was baptized by John the Baptist at the outset of his ministry. And he was crucified in Jerusalem under orders from Pontius Pilate, a Roman prefect, in likely either the year 30 or 33 CE.
