Just started working with wood the last year or two and have discovered I love it. Was a surprise to myself even. So far I’ve mainly done craft type things, like some fractal burns and working with different types of stains and such. Refinishing a chest or two. That’s about the extent of my knowledge, that is until I’ve started converting a shed into a bedroom. So far I have learned that I can lay some flooring, and have put up some wall panels. The shed was built already so I’m not making anything from scratch just making it a bit more homey to be used as a guest room. I will also be staining/painting the countertop once I finish the paneling. It was a work bench so it has character. I don’t want to tear it down as it can be used for storage or to put tv on top of and whatever else. I like the cuts, and inventions so my next move will be to figure a way to make the imperfections in the wood just a part of the finished look in the end. I’m excited to figure out what I’m going to do. I know as white as it is with the floor and walls, I want the counter to be colorful so I am most likely going to be using unicorn spit which is a water based gel stain. Anyway, that’s what I’m up to and what I’m about at the moment. Nice to meet you all and have an awesome day!
