My IT career started when I went to work for Time Sharing Ltd in Gt Portland St, London UK, back in 1969. I've worked in IT ever since and have enjoyed every minute of it (well, most of it, anyway).

I retired in 1998 but continue as an active amateur coder because the industry remains so fascinatingly innovative. Almost all my work is now browser-based and recently I've fallen deeply in love with Google Cloud services. I was literally dumbstruck when I discovered that these enable someone to build serious, production-quality IT applications with little more than basic HTML and javascript.
