Jamie Sgro holds an MA candidate at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and a BES in Honours International Development with a research specialization from the University of Waterloo. His research interests revolve around food security, conflict and security, and the implications of humanitarian aid. Recently, Jamie’s research has focused on applying predictive analytics to better understand food insecurity for the financially disadvantaged. This research falls in line with the broader Sustainable Development Goals, specifically relating to poverty, hunger, and reducing inequalities. With an emphasis on expanding self-efficacy, his work aims to utilize data in novel ways to better inform policy as it relates to those most marginalized.
