I am recieving the following exception
System.IO.IOException InnerException InnerException = {"Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."}

At the SMTP.Send();

I have a class "emailEditing.cs", which was sending Email Relays fine few days back.
But two/three days back, I have installed the Windows 7's fresh installation.
I am using a testing gmail account for E-mail Relay, with correct configuration, since it was working fine previously.

Issue 1: Although I have removed the Windows FireWall, added 587 Port for SMTP in Outbound & Inbound Rules(but could not see the port in command prompt by "netstat -an -p tcp"). I guess this might be an issue.
Issue 2: Whereas I have also tested my IP for Blacklisted IP Address, and a testing site for this purpose is showing around 7 Listings for Blacklisting my IP Address.
Issue 3: I have a low bandwidth connectivity. Is it the issue ? Whereas I am just sending a text-based E-mail Relay, which might be around 10kbs in size.

I would like to know that what might be the problem amongst these above mentioned or other than these ?

  • BTW I have put my IP Address for whitelist approval from all the servers which have black-listed my IP Address. I have used the following to find out which IPs are black-listed, and then asked the concerned ppl to remove my IP Address from black-list. But again the E-mail Relay is not working. – Muzaffar Ali Rana Mar 29 '12 at 21:55
  • Might this be a duplicate of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5420656/error-at-system-io-ioexception-unable-to-read-data-from-the-transport-connecti ? – Owen Blacker Jun 19 '13 at 16:00
