3He can *edit* the text but not *copy* it? I'd say that's impossible to make foolproof. – deceze Oct 12 '11 at 12:13

that is the challenge. and i am researching how to achieve maximum security. – Sanjay dev Oct 12 '11 at 12:20

Everything in your user's browser is already downloaded. They can do whatever they want with it. So, you can't prevent anyone from copying your content as it's already delivered to user's browser.

is there any way to secure it(downloading into browser). just as Google-books but they are not providing editing facility – Sanjay dev Oct 12 '11 at 12:33

maybe *just maybe* you can use flash as your text editor. add handle to CTRL+C and right click. Again, it's just maybe. Because I don't really know flash. – ariefbayu Oct 12 '11 at 12:47
There is a module named Wysiwyg which is very powerful. This module has support for all the top rich editors in the market. my personal suggestion is CKE Editor.
IMCE Wysiwyg bridge is another module which i find more useful. it is used for dynamically uploading images into the editor.
and then goto input formats and select the menus (like bold, italic, copy from word etc ) for each roles..

tiny editor is having more options but it has browser compatibility issues where as CKE editor is not having much browser compatibility issues – Prashanth Pratapagiri Oct 13 '11 at 13:36

yes you are right." tiny editor is having more options but it has browser compatibility issues" but CKE editor is not providing save option as pdf. – Sanjay dev Oct 13 '11 at 13:51

i tried cke editor, tcpdf, fpdf17, the problem is that CK is not giving saving option. and if i import that text to fpdf17 than formate changes. it making confuse. – Sanjay dev Oct 14 '11 at 05:57
I remember a self-quiz module that my university used had a "feature" like this. It prevented copying the quizzes, or even copying a screenshot of the screen, by constantly copying an empty string to the clipboard. You could possible do that, using some of the tools in this question, but you will probably annoy your users by destroying their clipboard contents without their knowledge, and it won't prevent more sophisticated users from turning off Javascript.

actually the editor r using that text-editor so they will not annoy of that process. can we disable user clipboard content storage for that particular page. – Sanjay dev Oct 12 '11 at 12:37

What I meant is that if the user copies text in another app, then he might be annoyed to find out that her text was erased by the web-app. – haggai_e Oct 12 '11 at 13:26

yes you are right but the scenario is that editorial-person can only add/edit manually the text but should not copy/past the text. i need that security. for my content on which i allow my editorial-person for formatting/change can i only disable ctrl+c (i mean copy) command on my specific user. – Sanjay dev Oct 12 '11 at 14:21

@Sahil If I was your editorial person I'd hate your guts for disabling copy/paste. Especially *editing* a text is a pain without being able to copy/paste stuff around. And finally, the person can always simply type the text from the screen into another app, if they *really* wanted to "steal" your text. – deceze Oct 12 '11 at 14:38

it is because text not needing more changes. just few grammatically changes are there. major is formatting. – Sanjay dev Oct 12 '11 at 14:45
