Convert input from 12h clock format to an output in 24 hour clock format in Python

Question

I have been trying to take an input such as : "9:00 AM to 5:00 PM" (which is string) and have an output in 24 hour time format, such as :"9:00 AM to 17:00 PM" (again output as string) without using libraries other than regex.
