SU executable and device not being Rooted

I am doing research for good way to root device in 2022. I reached this orginal post here:

I am confused with this explaination in one of the answers given:

The existence of the "su" executable doesn't necessarily mean the device has been rooted

What does it mean?

I might be mistaken but some unrooting tools can leave su there, so a not-rooted system could be marked as rooted – NotVeryCreative May 24 '22 at 22:47

that would make the tool a "rooting tool", unrooting tool does exactly the opposite, it "removes" the root – NotVeryCreative May 24 '22 at 23:01

this sample app is weird. it gave me false true positive, on my samsung device, however when I wrote code myself it did work. – yras8 May 29 '22 at 14:42
