I need protect a xlsx in a python program with a password. From what I've seen, python packages don't allow this level of security. Other solution is with VBA and libraries of windows, but i am working in ubuntu.

I read several post similar but any has a clear answer.

  • Are you using a python library to read the xlsx document? If so does it support password protection? – Conor May 23 '22 at 10:49
  • I am generating the xlsx document with XlsxWritter, but password protection is not possible in that way (only protect worksheet from edition but i need workbook protection). I check openpyxl has the same problem – Roberto Ameneiros Martínez May 23 '22 at 11:12
