How to find a word in a sentence

I've been looking online how to match a word in a sentence. But it always return false in .matches() method in https://www.freeformatter.com/java-regex-tester.html#ad-output

First scenario:

Word I'm looking for - App

The sentence - Test Data - Scripts - App - 1-sand

I'm using this regex (?<![a-zA-Z])App(?![a-zA-Z])

Second scenario:

Word I'm looking for - 1-sand

The sentence - Test Data - Scripts - App - 1-sand

I'm using this regex (?<![a-zA-Z])1-sand(?![a-zA-Z])

Both returns false for .matches() function

@Thefourthbird I'm using bamboo to match the word. It only accepts regex for conditional matches. So no i cannot use that. My only basis is the link i've sent. So i'm trying combinations – Big. D May 23 '22 at 08:13
@Big.D According regex101.com your expressions matches only `1-sand` and `App`. Or did I missunderstand something? – Reporter May 23 '22 at 08:14
Yes it shows 1 match. But I used the link that provides .matches() in Java that return false. Since bamboo recommends to use this tool. I'm executing a conditional task that if the word matches, it will execute. – Big. D May 23 '22 at 08:17

matches returns a boolean. You can match the whole string using `.*(? – The fourth bird May 23 '22 at 08:24
