I'm a co-owner in a startup and we're working with a client who has a pre-existing MS Access database and front end that we'd like to build off of. Only problem is that we're struggling with how to manage source control between multiple developers. I know SourceSafe is discontinued and that TFS has become Azure DevOps Server but I'm unsure if that will work for what we're needing and I'm having a hard time finding anything online to give me an answer.

So, can we successfully use multiple developers working on one MS Access database using some form of version/source control? Or do we need to just rewrite the program in a different language that allows for us all to work collaboratively?

Thanks

  • MSAccess can save/load everything except tables and relations to text file. Than you can put these text files to git. – 4dmonster May 19 '22 at 04:50
