I got a problem after doing everything this thread has told me to: How to create a standalone .exe in Java (that runs without an installer and a JRE)

Yet I keep getting the following error messages after installing javafx, setting the path, setting JAVA_HOME, installing jdk, etc.

The build is successful tho maven

  • The linked question provides a more complex deployment setup to use warp-packer to package the app for distribution as an exe. If you copied the code and setup including the directory structure exactly, then it should work with no change. I suggest making sure the application can run in an IDE (Idea) first before attempting the additional exe packaging steps. As indicated in the duplicate, your issue is probably a location or naming problem for your loaded fxml document. The linked duplicate provides resources for troubleshooting that (it is separate from the exe pack task). – jewelsea May 13 '22 at 20:41
  • I double-checked the linked answer, and there was a typo in it which I [edited](https://stackoverflow.com/posts/69824145/revisions). It referenced `HelloView.fxml` rather than `hello-view.fxml`. If the incorrect filename was used, that would cause the resource lookup issue you experienced. – jewelsea May 13 '22 at 20:45
