I found this thread: How can I install the VS2017 version of msbuild on a build server without installing the IDE?
The difference to my case is that I need to first download whatever files from the internet, maybe do something with them, transfer them to the remote machine (no internet) and then do more to finally have those build tools installed on that machine.
How can i do that? i have found threads asking about an offline installer, but such a thing does not seem to exist.
(subremark: what i specifically need is “Microsoft Visual C++ 14.0 or greater“.)
