What does the (+) do ? I see (+) after joins in various codes.

Also when creating a join, how does one determine which table to keep on left and which on right ?

The (+) allows operator on the where clause allows you to perform outer joins on tables, check the link. But it is better to use the ANSI join conditions LEFT or RIGHT to do outer join , thank to use (+). https://chartio.com/resources/tutorials/left-and-right-joins-using-the-plus-sign-in-oracle/ – Himanshu Kandpal May 09 '22 at 20:27
