I am using jqGrid 4.4.4 version. The first column of the grid is multiselect column (multiselect: true) and I have enabled paging in the grid. I would like to sort on this multiselect column without hiding the select-all checkbox so that all checked checkboxes are shown first in he grid. Kindly help me to solve this problem ?

Are you sure that you use this jqGrid 4.4.4 version - it is [9 year old](http://www.trirand.com/blog/?m=201301) . Maybe you mean free jqGrid 4.14.0? – Tony Tomov May 08 '22 at 11:45

@TonyTomov : I am using jQuery.jqGrid version 4.4.4 which I have installed in my project from NuGet packages in Visual Studio and this is the latest version shown which was published Feb 2013. In this jqGrid version is there any possible way to sort on the multiselect column ? – Ranjan Kaw May 09 '22 at 17:06

You need just to spare minute to search this forum. [Here is your solution](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8123825/bring-selected-rows-to-the-top-from-the-jqgrid/8138980#8138980). Please, check before ask! – Tony Tomov May 10 '22 at 10:36

@TonyTomov : I had already spent too much time searching the forum to find the solution and had already checked this link which you have sent but it did not solve my purpose, later I asked the question here. The solution in this link is hiding the selectAll checkbox which I do not want to do, I still want to show the selectAll checkbox, may be sorting will not work on this column if selectAll is still visible ? – Ranjan Kaw May 11 '22 at 15:24

@TonyTomov : I thought of another approach where I can add new column after multiselect column. The value of this new column will be 'Y' if checkbox is checked or 'N' if checkbox is un-checked, then we can sort on this new column. The challenge here is I am not able to change the value of new column to 'Y' or 'N' based on checkbox selection. Any idea how to implement it ? – Ranjan Kaw May 11 '22 at 15:43
