Hi in R I have been trying to map a data set using CountyChoropleth however its not recognizing about half of the FIP codes. I can't really see a pattern as to the counties its refusing to recognize.

A couple of examples of the counties it refuses to recognize include "1009, 1099, 16067, 27091, 27095, 27105, 27111, 27115, 27117, 27119, 16081, 27129, 27133, 19059, 27149, 27157, 27171, 28005, 17005, 28009, 28011, 28015, 28021, 28031, 28039, 19149, 28045, 28051, 28053, 17009, 28059, 28067, 28073, 13239, 27077, 45031, 45037, 47011, 47017, 47021, 47025" The list goes on.

If anyone has any experience with this or reccomendations let me know. thank you!

  • Not sure this is really a code question, it's just about how FIPS codes are defined. Counties are 5 digits (2 digits for the state, 3 for the county within the state), but some of yours are only 4. Beyond that's without a [reproducible example](https://stackoverflow.com/q/5963269/5325862) (including code & what packages you're using) it's hard to know what exactly you mean by R "refusing" to recognize them—if they're invalid, you need to fix that – camille Apr 18 '22 at 15:39
