My Prettier extension has stopped working all of a sudden. I have always had it set to format on save, however, I now get the below error message:

"extension 'prettier - code formatter' is configured as formatter but it cannot format 'javascript'-files"

EDITED - It seems to be an issue with the latest version. I have installed an older version and it is working again. Anybody got any ideas?

  • No, this is mainly just how to set it as the default formatter and to format on save etc. but I have already done all of this and it has been working for months. Just stopped all of a sudden and gives me the error "extension 'prettier - code formatter' is configured as formatter but it cannot format 'javascript'-files" – Matthew Williams Apr 18 '22 at 09:55
