I have to dataframes. One contains multiple entries per day, e.g:
quotedate x
10/01/2000
10/01/2000
10/01/2000
.
.
11/01/2000
11/01/2000
.
.
.
12/01/2000
The second dataframe contains the x variable and the date, e.g:
| quotedate | x |
|---|---|
| 10/01/2000 | 5 |
| 11/01/2000 | 7 |
| 12/01/2000 | 987 |
How can I match the dataframes, so that the long one with multiple entries per day contains the x values for every single entry?
