Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant "‘en_EN’" in /customers/3/8/6/nvtattoo.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-config.php:75 Stack trace: #0 /customers/3/8/6/nvtattoo.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-load.php(50): require_once() #1 /customers/3/8/6/nvtattoo.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-blog-header.php(13): require_once('/customers/3/8/...') #2 /customers/3/8/6/nvtattoo.co.uk/httpd.www/index.php(17): require('/customers/3/8/...') #3 {main} thrown in /customers/3/8/6/nvtattoo.co.uk/httpd.www/wp-config.php on line 75

I am getting this error on load, any idea what it could mean, I have tried the following

  • Updating WordPress Via FTP
  • Deactivating all Plugins
  • Checking the wp-config file, doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it
  • Downgrading PHP to 7.4 as the website went down in November when it updated to PHP 8

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

    `Undefined constant "‘en_EN’"`- you used the wrong type of quotes, and therefor PHP does not recognize this as a text literal, but thinks you are trying to access a constant by the name `‘en_EN’`. You need to use either `'` or `"` as string delimiters in PHP. – CBroe Mar 24 '22 at 12:48
