create-react-app won't create a new app and wont uninstall

Question

I am running into an issue with create-react-app where when I run npx create-react-app react-demo-app

npx create-react-app react-demo-app
Need to install the following packages:
  create-react-app

Then when I follow the instructions to remove create-react-app by running npm uninstall -g create-react-app

npm uninstall -g create-react-app

up to date, audited 1 package in 335ms

found 0 vulnerabilities

It acts like it has done the job however the same cycle occurs every time even If use the yarn suggestion and even if I reset my computer.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?
