How to pop out tab in visual studio code?

I'm using Visual Studio Code 1.6.4 on a MacbookPro running 11.6.1

I've opened several files from my working directory and the tabs are open in the window. How can I pop a tab out into a new window so I can look at the 2 files simultaneously? Every time I try to drag a tab out, it seems to copy something to my desktop, which is not what I want.

You could open 2 instance of vscode and edit code like that or split your editor with ctrl+\\ – Max Nguyen Feb 12 '22 at 02:41
