i have created a dataframe that has a 10+ year dataseries of daily dates (UK business days,no weekends).

How would i get a business day counter for each month ie First business day of the month is 1, last is for instance 21 then it resets the counter when we go into the next month?

the next step is i have actually created a new boolean dataframe which is if its a US Business day or not as there will be discrepancies between the 2.

Ultimately the goal is for me to identify data which is in the range of the 5th to 9th US business day.

Thank you in advance.

  • Welcome to SO. So, you need to 1) identify UK business days (i.e., weekdays minus holidays - what holidays are we talking about here? UK-wide? Those in London, England? or is it US holidays as specified later?) 2) add a business day counter starting anew each month, and 3) identify those rows(?) that are business day 5-9 according to your counter. What is [your input dataframe](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20109391/how-to-make-good-reproducible-pandas-examples) and what have you coded toward each of these steps?
