MySql / Primary Key for a table storing stock informations

Question

I need to setup a table which has to store stocks infos. I am wondering if it is good practice to make the symbol as the primary key. In this table there will be always one row per stocks. So I thought that it makes more sense to have this as a primary key instead of the id, which, for now, I think I do not really need it.
