Currently I need to download few attachments from links send from an outlook email on daily basis.

Every morning, one email contains 5-6 links each will prompt to a csv file download. The email titles will be daily report 27/12/2021 (title date changed on daily). Is there any method to perform this type of automated and scheduled download process? I've researched on internet and stackoverflow (it can be done using win32com.client and window task scheduler). However, most of the approach are assumed it is an file attachments inside outlook email instead of clickable hyperlinks (prompt to download after I clicked it).

  • So there are two parts to this. First finding the email you want (presumably by searching the InBox for a matching Subject line): there are plenty of SO answers on this. Second, you need to parse the email body to extract the links, and download the files from those links. If there is no intermediate security check then again there are plenty of examples on SO on how to achieve this (eg https://stackoverflow.com/questions/7243750/download-file-from-web-in-python-3). – DS_London Dec 28 '21 at 08:58
