Open browser specific links with JavaScript

Question

I was wondering how I would go about opening some browser specific (e.g. chrome://, edge://) links with JavaScript, because I tried using window.open but it yielded no results. Then, I tried setting to it with window.location.href, and again with window.location.replace, but it didn't work.
