On Windows, I'm having a problem installing the latest version of npm, similar to this. I'm unable to even uninstall the version I have on my system, from Windows' own cmd (after closing every IDE and restarting the system). So I'd like to try one of the solutions suggested in that thread: manually deleting C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\npm. But this folder contains files with names like stylus and pug, the apps I use in VS Code. I'm not sure if I can delete these.

The folder has also node_modules\npm (second npm in the hierarchy), which has another node_modules. I'm confused. Is this nesting normal? Can I manually delete any one of these in order to only reinstall npm, without affecting what I have installed via npm?
