I am trying to get serial port data via "Bluetooth". But it throws "'int java.io.InputStream.read(byte[])' on a null object reference" error.

Here is the java code:

public class MainActivity extends Activity
{
    TextView myLabel;
    EditText myTextbox;
    BluetoothAdapter mBluetoothAdapter;
    BluetoothSocket mmSocket;
    Button listen;
    BluetoothDevice mmDevice;
    OutputStream mmOutputStream;
    InputStream mmInputStream;
    Thread workerThread;
    byte[] readBuffer;
    int readBufferPosition;
    int counter;
    volatile boolean stopWorker;

    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
    {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

        Button openButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.open);
        Button sendButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.send);
        listen=(Button)findViewById(R.id.listen);
        Button closeButton = (Button)findViewById(R.id.close);
        myLabel = (TextView)findViewById(R.id.label);
        myTextbox = (EditText)findViewById(R.id.entry);

        //Open Button
        openButton.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener()

The error log:

    java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual method 'int java.io.InputStream.read()' on a null object reference

I don't know where is the issue starting from, And the serial port that am connecting sends data continuously without an start command, so I need to read the without a start. Is there any method to solve this issue or any other procedure.
