I am interested in extracting only the exterior boundary polygon (in sorted order) for a particular alpha value of a 2D alpha shape. Is there an option when creating alpha shapes to make sure the optimal alpha shape does not contain any holes (i.e. only one exterior boundary), or an easy way to extract the exterior boundary from the REGULAR alpha shape vertices? Thanks for any hints.
