I have seen the documentation of flutter about state management and in the package provider example. One difference I notice is that the documentation is using extends while the other is using with.

This is the example of the flutter's documentation using extends:

class CartModel extends ChangeNotifier {
  /// Internal, private state of the cart.
  final List<Item> _items = [];

  /// An unmodifiable view of the items in the cart.
  UnmodifiableListView<Item> get items => UnmodifiableListView(_items);

  /// The current total price of all items (assuming all items cost $42).
  int get totalPrice => _items.length * 42;

  /// Adds [item] to cart. This and [removeAll] are the only ways to modify the
  /// cart from the outside.
  void add(Item item) {
    _items.add(item);
    // This call tells the widgets that are listening to this model to rebuild.
    notifyListeners();
  }

  /// Removes all items from the cart.
  void removeAll() {
    _items.clear();
    // This call tells the widgets that are listening to this model to rebuild.
    notifyListeners();
  }
}

This is the example of the package provider using with:

/// Mix-in [DiagnosticableTreeMixin] to have access to [debugFillProperties] for the devtool
// ignore: prefer_mixin
class Counter with ChangeNotifier, DiagnosticableTreeMixin {
  int _count = 0;

  int get count => _count;

  void increment() {
    _count++;
    notifyListeners();
  }

  /// Makes `Counter` readable inside the devtools by listing all of its properties
  @override
  void debugFillProperties(DiagnosticPropertiesBuilder properties) {
    super.debugFillProperties(properties);
    properties.add(IntProperty('count', count));
  }
}

So which should I choose? Or does it even matter when choosing the two? Are there even a difference in using extends and with?
