I have an image of the world map. It has to be an image, as our designer has designed it so that it cant really be done with google maps or anything similar. Now, on this map, I need to place pins for specific countries.

My question to you all is, can I somehow convert central coordinates of each country to image position? Currently points, for a few countries are added via absolute position (top: 15%, left: 40% for example), but it doesnt seem like a good plan to do this for all the countries :D

PS: Map is to scale, and I have a json file of all countries coordinates.

If anyone has any alternative solution, I'd really apprecite it.

  • For a particular image map the positioning has to be done in relation to the actual map and its projection. I can't see how this can be done in any general case other than through measurement to ascertain % x and y positions. Different of course if you could use google maps and lat/lng. – A Haworth Sep 21 '21 at 13:58
