Increase number by one each year at a predefined date

I am trying to set up a number in PHP that represents the number of years a company has been in business. Let's say the company has started on the 14th of March 1996. I want to display a dynamic number that represents the number of years the company has been in business up to that point. For example, on the 14th of March 2022, the number should increase to 26, on the 14th of March 2023 to 27, and so on...
