I am trying to follow the steps given here to export a SQL query output to an Excel file: T-SQL: Export to new Excel file
But the solution first suggests to use the function sp_makewebtask to create a proper Excel sheet where the SQL output can be inserted into.
Now it seems the function sp_makewebtask was deprecated in 2005. I am wondering if there is a way in T-SQL to accomplish what sp_makewebtask was accomplishing in the answer T-SQL: Export to new Excel file
