I was taught that .5 always rounds up, but in R when I run: round(0.545, 2) the result is: [1] 0.54...

Does anyone know what the deal is? Thanks!

`?round` explains it. `Note that for rounding off a 5, the IEC 60559 standard (see also ‘IEEE 754’) is expected to be used, ‘go to the even digit’. Therefore round(0.5) is 0 and round(-1.5) is -2.` – Ronak Shah Aug 23 '21 at 12:20
