would anyone be able to explain what the following grouped regex means?
(^[\w])(?:. )([\w]*$)
I am not sure of the following:
- first group - what's the * beside the ] for?
- Second group - what's the whole chunk for?
Just a bit of context, this is for extraction... for Presidents' first and last names
