I have been struggling to figure out how to use PyCharm to create FreeCAD macros. Many thanks to tompi for an excellent answer to How to embed FreeCAD in a Python virtual environment?.
My issue is how, if possible, can I manage to run the FreeCAD GUI along side, under control of, visible to,... the interpreter. I'm trying to use the Macro facility to create a specific part and seeing the part without having to save the macro file and then run it under a separate instance of FreeCAD would be highly desirable.
The second issue has already been noted - how to have code completion within the PyCharm IDE.
As an aside to anyone on the FreeCAD or JetBrains/PyCharm forums, a clear and clean integration of a good IDE instead of the FreeCAD console would be of great value to each.
