We have a scenario where heap memory is assigned -Xmx750m -Xms750m for a java process and number of threads are around 10 for that process. when i checked cat /proc/processID/status the vmData is showing around 3.5+ GB. We have 750MB of Heap Size but why Vmdata is consumed more than 750MB i.e, 3+ GB of data. Does each thread accumulates separate 750MB of data ?
