My POM.xml :

<project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
  xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd">
  <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>
  <groupId>com.backend</groupId>

  <packaging>jar</packaging>
  <version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
  <name>sekolahbackend</name>
<properties>

 </properties>
 <build>

 </build>

  <dependencies>

When i'm trying to run "mvn clean install" on my cmd, that error appears. Anybody can help me? if "mvn clean install" fails, then the POM.xml file update will also fail too?

    Can you please check the build path. Probably you are selecting JRE instead of JDK. – Jyoti Prasad Dutta Jul 08 '21 at 06:37

  • Does this answer your question? [Maven error :Perhaps you are running on a JRE rather than a JDK?](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/26313902/maven-error-perhaps-you-are-running-on-a-jre-rather-than-a-jdk) – balintpekker Jul 08 '21 at 12:39
