I am new to firebase as a whole but so far it has been a blast. for a hobby project I let users create an event, with some details of that event. Later on I want to add something like add a friend in the app or I want a place for this event. "Booking functionality".
The app does not alow Usernames, and I collect Firstname and Last name but that will not be enough to search for friends.
My idea was something like Discord and Blizzard, where you have maybe multiple John Doe but with a #unique ID. -> John Doe #32406..
Since the Unique ID from Firebase is too long I cannot use it for this. Rather have it 5 digits, since my userbase is really small.
My question it this the best way of doing something like this? and would Google Cloud Functions be a good fit for this request?
