PHP not working on Notepad++

I'm making a website, (from raw code) and I want to make a page where the users can email me if they have any trouble with using my website. But the thing is whenever I type the PHP code in Notepad++ it will show on the webpage rather than send the email. I save the PHP code in a separate file, as a php file. I don't have a PHP server, could that be the reason why?

Please bear in mind I'm fairly new to PHP. Also, I am on a Windows 10 OS and I'm on a Sony Vaio from 2009.

And even still, you can't run PHP off of Notepad++, you need to install a webserver and php in order to run php files/directives. – Funk Forty Niner Aug 10 '17 at 00:23
Google is your friend. Also no such thing as a "PHP server", php needs a webserver to run. – Enstage Aug 10 '17 at 00:23
You can download and install Wamp, or Xampp. Those run off of Windows. – Funk Forty Niner Aug 10 '17 at 00:23
I think the most cost effective solution for you would be to purchase shared hosting. There are many shared hosting providers. They will run the server for you and you can learn how to work on it. – user2182349 Aug 10 '17 at 00:24
