Javascript validation for specified page number format with comma and hyphen

I searched for this required logic in the stock overflow but no where I did not find any answer.

I have a text field which accepts PDF page numbers as input .

It should accept the below formats:

iv, vii, ix, 140, 159, 178, 200, 217, 223, 226, 227, 237, 255, 270, 274(multiple page numbers)
365-370, 372-376, 378-382, 389-394, 396, 397, 401-405, 411-425, 431-448(series of multiple page numbers)

It should support the only above two formats, all other formats should give error if we enter the series of numbers.

These listed page numbers are color print pages for my entire PDF page.

you can make regexp to check input string, something like this `^([\d]+(-[\d]+)?(,\s)?)+$`. But it doesn't include roman numbers. – Vovan Apr 24 '17 at 12:38
