I've used setLocation(); inside this method but location is null:

locationManager = (LocationManager) getSystemService(Context.LOCATION_SERVICE);
try {
    //location = locationManager.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.GPS_PROVIDER);
    location = locationManager.getLastKnownLocation(LocationManager.NETWORK_PROVIDER);
    if (location != null) {
        setLocation(location, post);
    } else {
        Toast.makeText(ViewAdActivity.this, getResources().getString(R.string.location_not_available), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
    }
} catch (SecurityException e) {
}
}

  • check your Internet connection is available or not? If Internet is disabled it will return null. – Priya Jagtap Nov 18 '16 at 10:18

}

@Override
public void onStatusChanged(String provider, int status, Bundle extras) {
}

@Override
public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) {
    return null;
}

}

And wherever you want to get the location coordinates in an Activity or Adapter or Fragment write as below:

GPSTracker gps = new GPSTracker(this);
if(gps.canGetLocation()){
 gps.getLatitude(); // returns latitude
 gps.getLongitude();
 }

Hope this helps you.
