As mentioned in a comment on the answer to the how to detect HTML5 validation question, that given answer does not tell you if validation is being enforced and it surely won't tell you if the browser has a visible explanation of the violation.
I want to show a validation error pop-up only if the browser does not have a built-in one. Is there anyway to do this without hard-coding browser versions?
