I want to create a super simple installer, that simply copies files into an already installed application folder.

I've tried applescript, which seems really difficult for this simple task to be honest

Ive tried creating a dmg - which just deletes all the files inside the app folder

I'm at a loss now and cant understand why such a simple thing is so difficult to achieve on OSX

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • It might feel like trying to crush a bug with a sledgehammer, but why not consider Apple's current installer making tools?   • Thanks for the kindest way of delivering bad news - this just reinforces my dislike for osx in general. Every person I've seen who uses osx is always in such a mess with their file management due to finder and bad file management tools... – Ke. Oct 01 '14 at 21:20
