I have exactly the same problem as the one described here: Creating an Android app using tutorial does not show a fragment layout field

I've tried to change API level minimal to 20 and max to 22, but to no avail. The question was asked half a year ago, and there is no real answer. I have downloaded the recent version of android development kit and am trying to follow the tutorial, however there is nothing I can think of to get those fragment option to appear in the new activity wizard.

    but what's exactly the problem? – Blackbelt Sep 16 '14 at 13:36
  • The tutorial relies on fragments to display some text, however I can't reproduce it, because when when I select new activity from the "new" wizard, I don't even have the fragment section http://developer.android.com/images/training/firstapp/adt-new-activity.png Please notice "fragment layout name" - it is not present on my machine – user3002166 Sep 16 '14 at 15:11
  • I see, but what is preventing you to create it afterwards? – Blackbelt Sep 16 '14 at 15:20
  • I'm trying to follow the tutorial from developer.android.com and I'm concerned that if I just copy-paste fragment code from some other place I would miss something. Also - since it looks different I am not sure if it is not a serious problem that would cause problems later on. – user3002166 Sep 17 '14 at 17:19
