I am a totally newbie to this so please be patient with me.

I had to change hosts. All my previous hosts had cPanel and back-up tools in there that did all the work. This time my host doesn't so I have to manually transfer the MqSQL DB over.

I'm able to login and all that. I'm executing the following command:

mysql -h internal-db.s00000.gridserver.com -u username -p dbname < dbname.sql

Obviously I changed the variables to my information.

I get the following error:

I opened up my .sql file and on line 120 and it's this LONG, LONG line filled with random characters. It begins like this:

    I expect there is a mismatch in the collation/enconding setting. Maybe this helps: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3513773/change-mysql-default-character-set-to-utf8-in-my-cnf because your file looks fine but the server is not showing the correct characters – rene Sep 07 '13 at 16:16
